Prophar Laboratories has opted for 100% plant-based HDPE pillboxes made from bio-sourced sugarcane for all its capsule ranges. These containers, in addition to having a negative carbon footprint, will also contribute to a comprehensive ecological approach through the launch of our organic range .

100% plant-based packaging

In the jungle of various plant-based eco-packaging options, most are only 25% or 50% plant-based. The real difference lies in the price, because in many cases, some containers are still made from petroleum.

These eco-friendly packages have food and pharmacopoeia approval in the EU . These containers guarantee quality preservation, protection, safety, and the absence of contaminants (which is not the case with recycled or cardboard-based packaging).

However, not all plastics and bioplastics have the same ecological qualities.

Regarding the carbon footprint of these eco-friendly packages, the major differences compared to traditional packaging revolve around two main areas:
